The Palestinian Environmental Friends Association(PEF) has implemented a project “Tailored rehabilitation of partially damaged housing units for most vulnerable households affected by August 2022 escalation of hostilities, with a focus on women-headed and PWDs households.” This project was specifically designed to assist the most vulnerable families, with a focus on households led by women or including disabled individuals. The project was carried out in partnership with Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI)and with support from the oPt Humanitarian Fund (oPt HF).
A total of 200 housing units were rehabilitated, benefiting a total of 1,100 individuals in affected areas in the southern governorate of Gaza, including Deir al-Balah, Khan Yunis, and Rafah. Additionally, modifications were made to housing units to accommodate individuals with disabilities, following established standards.
This project reflects the ongoing dedication of PEF to provide support to its people. It significantly contributes to improving the living conditions of the targeted families and enhancing their resilience to weather-related challenges. This initiative underscores the association’s commitment to raising the quality of housing and ensuring a sustainable future for the region.
