The Palestinian Environmental  Friends Association signed an agreement with the Japanese government to establish a desalination plant in Rafah. The ceremony was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Palestine Takeshi Okubo, Dr. Samir Afifi, Neirab is the executive director of the association.

For his part, Dr. Afifi thanked the Japanese government for their generous support and praised their efforts to support the Association in particular and to serve the Palestinian people in general.
